Nilse from Relocate to Portugal was a huge help with our temporary residence renewals. She was always quick to respond to my questions, reviewed all of our documents for errors, organized everything in a shared drive, and made sure the files were ready to upload to the AIMA portal.

She walked me through the process step by step and helped make sure we had everything in place well before it was time to apply. She definitely helped me keep my sanity during a very stressful process! I highly recommend Relocate to Portugal!

I can't recommend Relocate to Portugal enough! They are the best that we have experienced thus far during our process here in Portugal. They were recommended by someone else to me who has used them in the past. I went in blind trusting the recommendation and it's the best decision I made. Every single person I've interacted with from Relocate to Portugal is super professional, fluent in English, and extremely compassionate and helpful. I have referred several people to them and everyone has had an extremely great experience with them.

Since I first applied for my D7 visa to Portugal almost four years ago, We’ve been working with “Relocate to Portugal,” and we couldn’t be happier with their support. They are always on top of everything: reviews, applications, deadlines, etc. They also reply to every single question we’ve had, no matter how small.

My wife and I have gone through the whole journey with their guidance: our initial visa application, the first AIMA appointment, and then, after two years, our three-year residency extension. Every step felt much smoother because we knew exactly what to do and when, thanks to their clear advice and constant support.

I’m truly grateful for their honest, knowledgeable, and friendly service. If you’re thinking about moving to Portugal, I highly recommend working with them. They make a complicated process feel manageable and even enjoyable.

This review is my honest opinion, with no exaggeration or advertisement.

Relocate to Portual helped me relocate to Portugal 3 years ago. They helped me find my apartment. Scheduled my meetings with the US Embassy and AIMA. Then they helped me with getting utilities in my name. They helped me with landlord issues. The owner, Gail has a great team and they are kind, proffessional and very knowlegable. They just helped me with my residency renewal and I was approved. The fees are the best around for such wonderful service. They all speak English too. SIMPLY THE BEST!!

I cannot recommend Relocate to Portugal highly enough. The RTP team guided me from my initial D7 application all the way through to receiving my residence permit, and at every stage I knew exactly what I needed to do and why. Gail, Nilse, and Cecília were extraordinarily responsive by both email and WhatsApp. I never once felt left on my own to figure something out.
Their knowledge of the documentation requirements is exceptional. They walked me through everything VFS needed for my visa application, then again for my AIMA appointment. They handled the transfer of my fiscal representation with Finanças, and would have set up my NIF, too, had I not already had one. For nearly every question I raised, they already had a clear PDF guide ready to send. When something fell outside that, a detailed answer came back the same day.
What I valued most was their depth of experience. When I wondered whether a delay was normal, they could tell me about clients who had been through the same situation. Having that kind of data on tap turned the inevitable anxiety that comes with this process, into perspective.
Their pricing is very reasonable for the level of in-depth service they provide. If you are considering a move to Portugal, they will be your greatest asset.

I cannot say enough positive things about this company and its staff. I first used their services seven years ago and recently returned for my renewal. With AIMA requirements constantly evolving, they make the process smooth and stress-free. Their team is highly knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. I have had excellent experiences each time and will continue to use their services in the future.

I met Gail in 2021 when I was looking for some assistance in getting my first visa to Portugal. At the time, there wasn't a lot of information yet. She guided me through the paperwork process while we were in America, and made sure it was all perfect before I sent it in for processing. She caught some mistakes, and I was able to correct any issues. I sent it in and received my Visa in about a month. We are now approaching our 5 year mark and will be applying for permanent residency soon. Gail, Nilse, Cecilia have all been a tremendous help over the years with answers to my questions. Relocate to Portugal has grown and has all the resources you will need to make your Portugal dream a reality. I totally recommend this company to assist you.

We first met with Gail at Relocate to Portugal in 2022 and have been working with her and the amazing RTP team ever since. They have guided us through obtaining our NIF, bank account opening, finding an apartment, setting up utilities, our D7 application, our AIMA appointments and driver’s license exchange. RTP went above and beyond for us at every step of the way. Everyone on staff is incredibly knowledgeable, detail orientated, efficient, and friendly. Their expertise made navigating the entire process of moving to a new country much easier and less stressful than it would have been if we had tried to do it by ourselves. In addition, their fees are reasonable and worth every penny. Hiring Relocate to Portugal was the best decision that we could have made and we can’t recommend them highly enough.

We were recommended to RTP and Nilse Costa for the renewal of our Residence Permits. Despite my having a skilled background in administration, my husband and I didn’t want to take any chances with the process now that the requirements and number of supporting documents has grown immensely. Nilse was AMAZING, right from the start, she explained so clearly the process, guided us so well, was so detail oriented, quick, precise and so cordial. She got back to us straight away with all communication. We loved the portal that RTP provide to drop all the required documents into and the WhatsApp communication we used back and forth with Nilse. This can be an extremely daunting and bureaucratic process but Nilse made it so streamlined and easy. Thank you RTP, we will be recommending you!

Gail and her team are awesome!! They were instrumental in the success of moving myself and my family to Portugal. They make the whole process much easier and less stressful than trying to do everything on your own. Along with the consults, they made sure that all of the required documents were obtained and filled out properly, and that we understood what to expect when we got to our appointments. Thanks to Relocate To Portugal I was able to go through the VFS and AIMA appointments with confidence and get my residency card faster than even expected. We highly recommend for everyone to request their service!

The best decision we made for our Portugal move was having RTP guide us through the process. Friends recommended RTP to us and we are forever grateful - it was a game changer!
Gail and her extraordinary team - Nilse, Cecilia and Maria - are so thorough, knowledgeable, prompt, consistent and KIND! They all have their specialities and between them they provide everything we've needed, every step of the way. From choosing which visa is best, to the full application prep, to AIMA appointments, to details and support with utilities, health cards, drivers license, shipping goods, timelines - it’s an ongoing support system and I can’t imagine doing it without them!!

The RTP team is phenomenal. I can’t recommend Gail and her team of professionals highly enough. Every step of the way they made sure we were so informed and prepared. Numerous times during both our visa and residency process my husband and I said “thank God for Gail and RTP” because without their expertise and guidance we would have missed critical changes in requirements and not been approved. We are now living our best lives here in Portugal and owe everything to them!

They consistently provide clear answers, keep me informed about the latest updates, and offer reassurance throughout the entire process of living in Portugal. Thank you so much for all your help!

We were given guidance through every step of the immigration process and were provided a specific timeline. We also had someone to assist gathering all the necessary documents and making the appointments required. There is a clearly defined contract that you can use for the entire process or to pick the parts you need more help with. Would recommend to anyone planning to come to Portugal.

I cannot express enough my sincere gratitude and thanks to Nilse and the team at Relocate To Portugal. From my initial interview with RTP, to guidance in and around the maze of AIMA, through to my sit down and exchange of documents with the authorities, RTP was always there for me. Any question I had was answered. Any concern was soothed. When it came time to work on my driver's license exchange RTP guided me through the process which felt easier than I could have imagined. Value for the money? Beyond belief. RTP is stacked with experts and I don't think there is a company out there better suited for navigating the immigration process better than Relocate To Portugal. I would recommend them to any of my family or friends and I imagine you would as well.

I cannot recommend Relocate To Portugal highly enough. From start to finish, Nilse and her team were consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making our move a success.

What stood out most was how clearly they laid out the entire process from the beginning. Having realistic expectations and a clear roadmap made it much easier for us to choose the right timing for our move. When it came to the mountain of documents required for our VFS appointment in March 2025, they kept us organized and on track — even flagging last-minute fee changes we would have missed on our own. And when the embassy took longer than expected, their encouragement and patience made a stressful wait much more manageable.

Finding a place to live was another area where RTP really shone. We were adamant about seeing properties in person rather than virtually, and they respected that completely. After noting our preferences, they arranged viewings of multiple properties and helped us land an amazing, recently listed house we absolutely love. Their attorney even reviewed our rental contract, which gave us real peace of mind as newcomers unfamiliar with how things work locally.

The AIMA process was where their expertise truly impressed us. Our original appointment was scheduled six to seven months after our arrival — far too long to wait. Nilse personally walked us through AIMA’s Portuguese-language website to submit an earlier request, which was approved. She then carefully reviewed all required documents before the appointment, and we were both approved without a single issue.

I’ve read countless accounts from people who navigated this process alone, and it sounded genuinely exhausting — confusion over specific documents, struggling with Portuguese paperwork, uncertainty about whether a landlord’s terms were reasonable or exploitative. We wanted consistent, knowledgeable support throughout, and that’s exactly what Relocate To Portugal delivered. Their team knows this process inside and out, and it shows.

In the past few years we've been in Porto, Gail, Nilse and the rest of the team helped us with so many things, it's hard to imagine how difficult things would have been without them. They are always up to date on changes and are a reliable source of information. Whenever we relied on them to get something done, they have always been very responsive and dependable. We've been to a couple of SEF/AIMA appointments with them and both times they had prepared us very well according to the latest requirements (they keep changing!) and everything went very smoothly. Beyond that, their help in finding an apartment, getting utilities ready, opening bank accounts etc. made our initial landing so much easier and less stressful. I can recommend them to anyone I know with absolutely no reservations.

Gail, Nilse, and their team have been our go‑to experts ever since we moved to Porto. Having them to guide us through questions and appointments gave us real peace of mind. Our only regret is not being able to work with them on our visa application — they were fully booked at the time, and the lawyer we turned to instead caused unnecessary stress and expenses that could have been avoided.
RTP made our relocation seamless — from finding our new home and setting up utilities to opening a bank account and assisting with AIMA appointments. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone moving to Portugal.

Working with Relocate to Portugal was a great experience, especially during a stressful move. Gail and Nilse were able to get our paperwork set up all in a timely manner and we had everything we needed for our appointments. We have been through a move to another country and it was a nightmare, even with a lawyer so we were skeptical in the beginning. Follow through was amazing, even after moving to Portugal and getting our residency. They also have additional services that you can get help with separate from the actual residency, and I found there prices very reasonable. Thank you again for everything!!

We have been contracted with Relocate to Portugal (RTP) since February 2024 and they have been with us through every step of the process, even well after we arrived in Portugal. The RTP Team has been an invaluable resource in reducing the uncertainty and stress when going through all the steps to immigrate to Portugal. We feel their fees are a great value for their services. They helped introduce us to the process timeline, and exactly what would be required of us during an initial Zoom meeting call.
They helped my wife by setting appointments to establish her NIF and Bank Account when she visited Portugal in March 2024. They were my fiscal representative when applying for my NIF. They made our D7 visa appointments at the Portugal Embassy in Washington DC, identified and organized all of our paperwork for the visa appointment through a well-organized use of the shared Microsoft one-drive folder. The RTP Team also connected us with legal services to make sure our lease agreement did not have any adverse conditions and helped us identify all the steps we would need to travel with our two cats to Portugal. After our arrival in Portugal, they helped us pursue our AIMA appointments and we received our residency cards within four months of arriving. Their help didn't stop there, as they continued to help make sure we updated our fiscal information and pursue our public health ID numbers. We worked directly with Gail, Nilse, Cecilia, Bruno and Maria, and they all were available via WhatsApp, email, and zoom calls, and replied to all our questions in a timely manner.

Gail, Nilse, and the entire RTP team are amazing! From the first consultation, they guided me through the entire visa and residency process with patience and expertise. They simplified the overwhelming paperwork, answered all my questions, and proactively handled potential issues. We even rehearsed our interview! Their attention to detail and availability made everything stress-free. Thanks to their knowledge, we switched from the CPLP to the D7 Visa, and today my family and I received our residency cards. I highly recommend RTP to anyone navigating Portuguese residency and dreaming of living in Portugal. Five stars!

I recommend Gail and the whole RTP to anyone looking to move to Portugal. Gail and everyone on her team were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable all the way through the process. My husband and I felt 100% confident going into our appointment, and we received our Approval the second week of March without any problems.

As we were celebrating, Gail was already helping us focus on the next steps. She even noticed a mistake in our Visa that was later corrected by the embassy in a week thanks to an email Gail helped craft.

The best part of working with RTP is that now, as we prepare for the move, we feel fortunate to have a network of experts and friends who can help and assist through the process of setting up in Portugal.

Having gone through this process, I highly recommend that anyone applying for a D Visa get Gail's help.

I stubbled upon RTP while researching the process/document requirements for obtaining a residence permit. I had been trying to schedule my own appointment at SEF, which was near impossible, so I decided to reach out. It was the best decision and I wish more people knew about the range of services they provide. Nilse was so helpful in explaining the relocation process and Cecília scheduled my SEF appointment within a matter of days. They made the process so smooth and I can't recommend them enough.

💥 Relocate to Portugal was instrumental in making my relocation to Portugal a success.

The initial advice received was clear and I understood the process in full, so could plan, accordingly.

I enlisted RTP as they offered a wide range of service to help with every stage of the relocation process including finding suitable accommodation 🏡 , banking 🏦 , tax advice, and even helped with my first car purchase 🚘 once I was settled.

This saved a huge amount of time as I didn't have to work with different consultation agencies for different services such as accounting, legal, housing and could just call on RTP to do it all.

Gail and her team of experts are an incredible resource. I highly recommend Relocate to Portugal to anyone considering relocating to Portugal, or in need of advice on any issue once settled.

We had the delight of engaging Gail and Nilse part way into our D7 Visa process and WISH we had found them sooner! They double checked paperwork, alerted us to pitfalls, walked us through applications/forms, removed ambiguity whenever possible and instilled in us a much needed calmness and peace of mind. They were friendly, knowledgeable, responsive and honest. Thank you RTP for all your hard work navigating us through the D7 and later successful SEF appointments. In short, RTP rocks!

They not only told me what I needed to do to apply for my visa, Gail introduced me to my first friend in Portugal and Nilse has helped me with advice so many times since on issues that came up. They are an incredible resource.

Don’t really know what to say other than we couldn’t have done this relocation without them, they were the perfect partner to help us. It was an absolute pleasure working with Gail and Nilse, they went the extra mile for us on more than one occasion and I am so grateful for the work that they both did. I would highly recommend RTP if you are looking for an agency that you can trust to help you get your Visa application over the line.

Nilse was a huge help! I can't thank her enough for the endless support! She made life a lot easier with my Manifestation Of Interest and this was amazing quality service considering how difficult all of this info was to try and sort out myself! Cannot recommend enough! Great work!! Muito Obrigado!!!

Gail has been very helpful with my questions for relocation as an American expat to Portugal and extremely kind and responsive. Wonderful to have someone you can trust through the process. Thank you!
